Sport Mixed Gas Diver (50m)

SAC’s Sport Mixed Gas Diver course is a great way to take your diving to deeper depths with greater safety and awareness.

This first step in your open-circuit mixed-gas diving training is designed to ease you into the world of technical diving. You will increase your awareness and safety by minimising the undesirable effects of narcosis and increased gas density seen in deeper air diving.

The Sport Mixed Gas Diver course introduces an experienced Accelerated Decompression Procedures (ADP) diver to the use of trimix as a breathing gas. You will become qualified to dive such mixes to depths of up to 50m using a twin-set and single stage cylinder.

To enrol on the Sport Mixed Gas Diver Course you must be 18 years or older. You must have already successfully completed a BSAC Sport Diver course with a 35m depth certification and a BSAC ADP course (or have equivalent certification from BSAC as an Advanced Nitrox Diver, or from another recognised training agency).

You should be proficient at diving, with say 60 or more logged dives, of which 10 should have been at depths of between 30m and 35m.

After completing Sport Mixed Gas Diver and consolidating your skills, your options for deeper expedition diving significantly expands.

You can develop your open-circuit deeper diving skills to 60m as an Explorer Mixed Gas Diver (60m).
You can develop your diving skills further by learning how to be a Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver.
You could develop specific skills to expand your diving interests further, including technical and logistical courses such as Compressor Operation and Mixed Gas Blender. Check out the Skill Development Courses (SDCs) you can get involved in.
You could sign up for BSAC’s Instructor Foundation Course (IFC) to become an Assistant Diving Instructor.
Already an Open Water Instructor, or above? You could hone your skills to become a Technical Instructor and join your regional team.

This bundle combines the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue with the SSI React Right program. Learn how to recognize and deal with stress, prevent accidents and properly manage emergency situations if they occur. You will earn the SSi Diver Stress & Rescue certification, as well as the SSI React Right certification after completing the programs in this bundle.

PURPOSE OF THE DIVE

This introduction is designed to exhibit the technology and ease of Open Circuit diving, in a pool or in confined water environment with pool like conditions.

PREREQUISITES

Be able to swim comfortably.
Be a minimum of 10 years old (adult consent needed if under the age of 18 years, or other age depending on the laws of the country you train in).

INSTRUCTION

To be conducted by a renewed Instructor and/or Level 4 Dive Master.

COURSE CONTENT

Academic presentation and quick quiz.
Confined water - underwater skills on open circuit scuba.

IN WATER EXPERIENCE

Your introduction will be in a low-stress environment. After determining you have basic swimming skills, your instructor will demonstrate the required skills for you to swim underwater, whilst breathing on open circuit scuba.

CERTIFICATION

This is NOT a certification programme. However, you can follow on and start your Scuba Diver or Open Water 20 certification programme.

Fun Dives for certified Divers

“We’re all about keeping groups small, making new friends and diving safe”

Fun Diving at Tech Diving Thailand Dive is all about getting the maximum enjoyment from your dives. To ensure this, we keep groups sizes to a maximum of 4 divers. We’ll also buddy your team based on certification level/ dive experience and comfort in the water.

We provide a dive leader from our full-time professional team to ensure fun dives are carried out with the highest of safety standards. Equipment is included in the cost, however, if you have your own gear we will happily discount your dives.

Dive site selection is realistic and always safety conscious. We consult with our local Thai Captain on water movement and site conditions every day and only set dive sites 1 day in advance.

We promise to take you to various dive sites as much as possible and for those divers that book on for multiple dives, we will try our best to make sure you dive with your chosen professional throughout your stay.

Should you have any specific dive sites of interest, please let our team know so we can do our best to get you there!

Please note, it is recommended that you do not fly within 18-24 hours after diving!
